Two arrested on suspicion of shoplifting

Comments (0)TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from a supermarket in Harpenden.
Police are questioning a 38-year-old woman from Houghton Regis in Bedfordshire and a 38-year-old man from Luton.
Both allegedly theived from the Sainsburys store in the High Street. The man has also been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
Police were called to the store at around 4.30 yesterday afternoon after a Police Community Support Officer (PSCO) witnessed the pair flee from the scene. A police search was later carried out and meat was uncovered.
The pair have been police bailed until July 21.
