A DAY nursery in Welwyn Garden City could benefit from a brand new home if planning permission is granted for a new building next to the existing Ludwick Nursery in Holwell Road.
The Squirrels nursery is currently Sir John Newsom School site but by moving it 12 new places providing care for babies will be made available.
Head teacher of Ludwick Nursery Jan Hoare said: "If it goes ahead The Squirrels will provide around 60 day care places for children up to the age of five and for the first time for babies.

Provided planning permission is granted at a Hertfordshire County Council planning committee on Tuesday, building work could start as soon as the middle of May.
Included in the development are plans to provide parking for 22 cars which, said Ms Hoare, should help to alleviate some of the parking problems that both residents of Holwell Road and parents who visit the school and nursery experience.
