PEDAL power was in action at Wycombe's biggest charity bike ride at the weekend.
Weatherman Ian McCaskill started the ride as about 350 cyclists took part in the Rotary Club's Pedal Push 2003 to raise money for two charities the Wishbone Trust and Scannappeal. Money was also raised for riders' individual charities and it is hoped that upwards of £20,000 will be collected.
Brain Webb, of the High Wycombe Rotary Club, said: "We are very optimistic that we will beat last year's figure of £10,500 but it will take time to get the money in."
Riders set off from The Rye in High Wycombe on Sunday morning and had a choice of two routes this year. The shorter route measured 20 miles travelling through the Chiltern villages of Hampden and Naphill. Hardier riders took on the 50-mile ride which included the Sustrans Phoenix Trail between Princes Risborough and Thame.
