THOUSANDS of nervous students across St Albans and Harpenden picked up their A-Level results this morning, and are already feeling the relief.
Seventeen and 18-year-olds picked up As-Level and A-Level exam results which could determine their future.
At Marlborough School in Watling Street, St Albans, students packed out the main hall waiting to be handed their grades.
Stephen Young, 17, was relieved to reach his expected grades - five As in general studies, maths, further maths, chemistry and physics.
The St Albans student hopes to study maths at university.
He said: "It's been a tough year, further maths has been especially hard but I did work hard so I thought I would probably get an A."
David Viney, assistant head and director of Sixth Form, said: "This is one of nicest days for me, to see all the hard work come to fruition and it's a relief for the students.
"We're really pleased with the results and the hard work of everyone involved.
"We expect that we have done really well again this year, based on individual success."
More A-Level news from across St Albans, Harpenden, Welwyn and Hatfield will uploaded as we get it.
