WITH the transfer window set to slam shut next week, a speculation frenzy has once again engulfed White Hart Lane.

Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is set to tie up his £16m move to White Hart Lane within the next 24 hours.

Although he is no way similar to Robbie Keane, it is believed he is seen as the forward line replacement for Irish forward.

Once his move has been confirmed Spurs will let Dimitar Berbatov head to Old Trafford providing Manchester United can pay the £30m asking price.

Once that deal has been agreed Spurs will move for his replacement with Radamel Falcao, River Plate’s Colombian striking sensation, being lined up in a £7m move.

Meanwhile manager Juande Ramos is still hoping to sign Pavlyuchenko's Russian team mate Andrei Arshavin to play behind Pavlyuchenko, with Falcao and Darren Bent offering cover.

With Alan Hutton still out Ramos also wants to complete the signing of Manchester City's Croatian defender Vedran Corluka who can play anywhere in the back four or even as a defensive midfielder.

Whether the Tottenham board has left itself enough time to conclude the signings remains to be seen.

  • Spurs fans, should a replacement for Keane have been found by now? Do you wish you could have one summer without wholesale changes at White Hart Lane?
