SIX years after winning a competition to find the top curry chef in Britiain, Chad Rahman has left the Mumtaj restaraunt in St Albans to set up in competition only a few yards away.
Mr Rahman, who lives in St Albans,is now the owner of Chez Muntaj, located in a former furniture shop on the opposite side of London Road to his former employer.
Chez Muntaj is marketed as a blend between Indian and French cuisine, a style learned by Mr Rahman when he was training in Houston, USA.
An official opening last night was attended by guests including MP Anne Main and Mayor Bert Pawle.
