WELWYN Hatfield MP Grant Shapps grabbed the media limelight today when he demanded a full review of security at Whitehall.
The call followed a report revealing that one laptop or desk top computer had gone missing every week in the past 12 months - sparking renewed fears that private and personal data may have been seriously compromised.
The MP's request comes a year to the day since the Government admitted losing a disc containing the confidential details of 25 million families.
Figures obtained by the Tories revealed 53 computers, believed to contain vital data, had vanished in a year, along with 36 BlackBerries, 30 mobile phones and four memory sticks.
