St Albans cyclist tackles 200 miles in a day

A ST ALBANS cyclist will be riding 200 miles from London to Paris tomorrow to raise sponsorship for charity.

Terry Jones, who works for the National Farmers Union and will tackle the route with a team of colleagues, said: “'You never forget how to ride a bike but what you do forget is how much it hurts when you ride one a long way.”

“I was a reluctant participant to begin with but once I got back on a bike for the first time in 15 years I really began to enjoy it. I am now looking forward to it, the other guys doing the ride are great fun and we will have a lot of laughs. I really hope that we can raise a lot of money for our nominated charities because they all seek to improve the lives of others.”

The ride will support charities funding cancer research and agricultural tools for east Africa.
