ST ALBANS: A woman who ran a brothel in the city centre has had a total of £621.71 confiscated.
Sunicha Jittawee, 34, pleaded guilty to keeping a brothel for prostitution at 20 Upper Dagnall Street.
At St Albans Crown Court in April the woman, of previous good character, received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 24 months.
Jittawee, of Crescent Road, Finchley, had been previously warned by Judge Stephen Warner that she could go to prison for a matter that “clearly crosses the custody threshold”.
However, the sentencing judge passed a suspended sentence as well as recommending Jittawee for deportation.
At the same court on Thursday a formal confiscation order was made for the amount seized after the police raid on the property.
Proceeds of crime investigations could uncover no further profit from the defendant's illicit activities.
