Paramedics and firefighters called to Hatfield crash

A MAN and a woman were rescued by paramedics and fire crews after a crash in Hatfield last night.

Three ambulance crews and around 19 firefighters dashed to the A414 Hertford Road just after 7pm where four cars had collided.

Gary Sanderson, spokesman for the ambulance service, said: "Paramedics at the scene worked closely alongside the fire service for approximately 45 minutes to treat, stabilise and free a woman who was trapped in a car following the collision. She sustained neck and back injuries and was taken to the QE11 in Welwyn Garden City."

He added: "A second casualty, a man, who was in another vehicle received minor injuries. He was also taken to the QE11 hospital."
