Seven arrests in St Albans

Three men have been charged on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle with a further five people arrested in St Albans on the same day.

Stefan Jakeman, 18, and Peter Freuen, 19, both from Green Lane in St Albans, and Daniel Frame, of no fixed abode, were arrested and charged last week following the theft of a handbag from an insecure car parked in Artisan Crescent.

Jakeman has been remanded in custody until July 22.

Frame has been remanded in police custody while Freuen has been released on police bail.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested and released on police bail until July 27. The three other people arrested were released without charge.

Twenty-nine-year-old Steven Barker, of Great Guildford Street in London, was arrested and charged with handling stolen property (a laptop) in St Albans on the same day.
