A RETIRED IT consultant from St Albans has passed his Spanish GCSE examination with an A grade, at the age of 61.
Malcolm Scott, of Camlet Way, decided to study for the classification to improve his language skill, opting to take evening classes at St Albans Girls' School.
Malcolm, who has a keen interest in languages, said: "There were five people in my class altogether; three men and two women, all over 30 - everybody managed to get grade A or A-star , which is really great.
"The teaching was absolutely fantastic, teacher Clare Kelly in particular is an excellent teacher."
The language course, which lasted four terms, included online and class study and covered Spanish reading, writing, listening and oral modules.
Malcolm said: "I would recommend the course to anyone, because it really is worthwhile.
"I've got no immediate plans to take any other examinations, but I may brush up on my French."
