A HARPENDEN couple will exchange their sketchbooks for parachutes next week when they take to the skies for charity.
Aaron Wood and Katie Steed are all set to jump out of a plane at 10,000ft to raise money for a local charity Harpenden Spotlight on Africa.
The pair will take off and land at Cambridge airfield on September 30 and aim to raise £2,000 for the worthy cause which supports children in the Ugandan town of Musoto.
The pair own their own animation company Slurpy Studios and Aaron said: “Our way of preparing for the jump is by trying not to think about it. Although I don't think either of us is massively afraid.”
Katie added: “So far we've raised more than £1,500 thanks to the generosity of local people. We set £2,000 as our target thinking it was completely outrageous but we might as well set our sights high.
“Now that we're so close we'd be absolutely thrilled to actually reach the goal.”
