A 30-YEAR-OLD man was left requiring surgery to reattach his lip after he was glassed at a St Albans pub over the weekend.
Mark Law was enjoying an evening with a friend at The Rats Castle pub in Hatfield Road in the early hours of Saturday morning when the alleged attack happened.
The 30-year-old victim, of Frobisher Road, St Albans, was taken to the QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City, but was later transferred to Stevenage's Lister Hospital where his lip was stitched up.
His grandfather Reg Law told the Review this morning: "He doesn't remember much at all.
"He was playing pool in The Rats Castle pub and the next thing he knew an ambulance was taking him to hospital.
"His lip was hanging off, it had been lacerated. His face was like a red tomato."
Mr Law returned to his grandfather's home in Thirlmere Drive, St Albans, the following day where he was questioned by police. He has since dropped the charges against his attacker.
