THE centre of St Albans will be transformed into a winter wonderland with fun for all the family during the Christmas lights switch-on this weekend.
Between Market Place, St Peter's Street and the town hall there will be number of children's rides, a Christmas fayre and craft market on Sunday, November 15 from 10am to 6pm.
The lights will be switched on by the Mayor of St Albans Councillor Chris Oxley at 5.30pm and there will be performances at the Alban Arena from 2.30pm by pupils at Sandringham School.
The shops will also be open between 11am and 5pm.
Councillor Oxley said: “I do hope that as many of you as possible will come both to join in the fun and support our local traders. Based on past experience it will be a wonderful event especially for our younger residents.”
