ST ALBANS MP Anne Main will be meeting parents today who home educate their children to receive petitions which will be presented in parliament next week.
Hundreds of mothers and fathers across the country have joined a campaign opposing proposed changes to the way they educate their children.
If the plans are given the go-ahead the Government will have the upper hand and will have the power to scrutinise home schooling.
Carolyn Crawshaw, of Woodstock Road North, St Albans, has been home educating for the past 15 years.
She told the Review that although Government inspectors are currently involved, parents are able to control the pattern of learning.
Carolyn and her husband Mike, along with another couple from St Albans, are on the way to Westminster this morning to meet Mrs Main. They will be representing numerous other parents who have also signed petitions.
