Three arrested for Welwyn Garden City burglary

THREE Welwyn Garden City men were arrested on Sunday morning, suspected of stealing a car after taking the keys in a break-in.

Police, alerted at 10.45am to three people behaving suspiciously in a Peugeot 308 in Waterend Lane on the outskirts of the town, made two arrests in Lemsford Village after a major search operation involving several cars and the helicopter.

They also found the Peugeot, which had been taken from outside a house in Salisbury Gardens that night, and arrested a third suspect at his home in Welwyn Garden City.

The three suspects have been released on police bail.
