A GROUP of teenagers from a top performing arts school in Beijing mounted a display of Chinese dance, song and martial arts at St George's School in Harpenden on Saturday.
A team from the performing arts department of Renmin University began a five-day British tour at the Sun Lane school, marking the Chinese New Year with afternoon and evening performances.
Headteacher Norman Hoare said: "The Chinese celebrate New Year in a way that puts us to shame.
"They include youngsters and share a vibrancy about life and fill the days with colour and happiness.
"Our pupils and guest visitors were most impressed by the colourful outfits, the energy of the kung fu displays and the obvious pleasure and enthusiasm of all who took part."
