Final thousands needed to purchase former St Albans cinema

AMBITIOUS plans to restore the Odeon cinema back to its former glory are slowly edging closer to reality.
The fund to purchase the London Road site is reaching the £950,000 mark and cinema entrepreneur James Hannaway says there are only days left to find the final few thousands to make the £1 million needed.
He added that in just seven weeks the people of St Albans, Harpenden and surrounding towns have raised a total of £944,452, which he described as an “unprecedented achievement”.
If 60 more people sponsored a seat Mr Hannaway said, the goal will be reached.
