'St Albans has done it' - £1million cinema target reached

THE St Albans cinema dream is to become a reality with the full £1 million raised.
Cinema entrepreneur James Hannaway has raised more than the total sum needed to buy the Odeon cinema in London Road. In just seven weeks the cinema restoration project has amassed £1,022,437, thanks to generous donations from the people of St Albans.
He said: "Well done St Albans. You've done it and all in seven weeks and three days since 21st January (when the Alpha bank account first opened)."
Dates for exchange of contracts are yet to be announced.

St Albans residents ready to stump up a huge sum of money for a facility they really want.
What a shame the council do not listen to residents on the provision of other facilities such as Westminster Lodge!
