BNP leader's secret visit to Markyate

THE British National Party leader, Nick Griffin, made a guest appearance at a secret General Election fundraiser in Markyate, the Review can reveal.

The controversial politician and his far right supporters enjoyed a bash at the village hall, raising more than £1,900 for the party's election campaign.

However, BNP Markyate parish councillor Simon Deacon admitted the event, held on Saturday, February 27, was invite only and not publicised for fear of reprisals from anti-fascist campaigners.

Activist Mark Smith of Unite Against Fascism (UAF)said: "I think it's very telling the fact that they have to do their fundraising in secret. These are the kind of politics they have to conceal and keep behind closed doors - it's indicative of their position.

"Anti-rascists broadcast their message loud and proud, but fascists have to keep their ideas behind closed doors.

"We are going to have a very public anti-fascist campaign. We will ensure the anti-fascist message is loud and clear and fascists are not given the oxygen of publicity."

Fellow activist Jon Berry told the Review he was made aware retrospectively of Mr Griffin's visit to the area.

He added: "What sort of legitimate political party is forced to hold its meetings in secret for fear of the public's disgust that these people should be in their village?"

The Review can also reveal that BNP parliamentary candidates from across the county also held a meeting, attended by Mr Griffin, in Markyate three weeks previous to discuss their election strategy.

Asked why both events were not made public, councillor Deacon said: "If UAF knew in advance they would turn up and make the lives of the poeple who work at the village hall hell. You only have to look at Nick Griffin's appearance on the BBC's Question Time to see what these people are like. We work within the law of the land, these people don't.

"We should be allowed to go about our business democratically. Can you imagine if we did anything like this, there would be uproar.

"It's not because we want to be secret, they have forced us to be like it."

The evening attracted around 180 guests and featured performances from a professional Elvis impersonator as well as a raffle and quiz.

Is "a bash at the village hall" a euphemism for a great big punch-up?

Certainly the BNP should be allowed to meet openly, for they are a perfectly legal party. If they have had to keep a low profile in meeting it is because of people like Unite Against Fascism, who want to silence anybody that holds a different view to their own.

Supporters of the inappropriately named "Unite Against Fascism" have been involved in numerous acts of illegality, including riots in a number of British cities; violent attacks on innocent members of the public going about their legitimate daily business; vandalism against private property; and anonymous telephone threats against businesses which have dared to host BNP events.

The "UAF" consistently demonstrate that it is they who are the true FASCISTS, by seeking to deny free speech and attempting to stop the democratic rights of anyone who happens to disagree with their twisted and myopic political viewpoint. The "UAF", in actual fact, is just a front organisation for the equally undemocratic and extreme marxist, Socialist Worker Party.

Surprisingly, David Cameron is a 'key signatory' of the "UAF", although why the leader of the CONservative Party would wish to associate himself and his party with a bunch of communist thugs, is not exactly clear. Perhaps he, like his opposite number in ZaNuLabour, sees the "UAF" as an unofficial militia ('useful idiots', if you will) in their fight to suppress all real opposition and thereby maintain the political establishment's status quo.

Every time one of our local papers runs a story about the BNP all their under-employed myopic single-issue fanatically and demonically obsessed devotees from distant parts let rip with their singularly dull obsessive maniacal rants.

Keep it up morons! It's you're time you're wasting.

Cheers FatBob, I will.
The reason we stick our oars in is to make sure that both sides of the argument are heard, and so that the casual observer doesn't come away with the impression, pushed as a matter of compulsion by all members of the NUJ, that BNP members are a bunch of swivel-eyed nazis.

End of rant, time for me tea!

You can find out more about the BNP by checking out a website called www.stormfront.org - it wont take you long to find BNP members making racist comments and engaging in lunatic conspiracy theories. This is what the BNP is really about.

These racists fools make me sick.

Let them have their little tea party, they will never get voted in, so why worry?
