Lorry driver remains 'serious' in hospital

The lorry driver who became ill at the wheel and crashed into the central reservation barrier of the M25 yesterday (Wednesday) remains in a serious condition in hospital, police have confirmed.

The man, in his 40s and from the Nottingham area, crashed near junction 21 (Bricket Wood) at about 5.45am.

Firefighters and paramedics freed him from the wreckage shortly afterwards.

Police, who are appealing for witnesses, have asked anyone with information to call 0845 3300 222.
