NEW men's and ladies' captains have taken over at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club near Harpenden, after the incumbents raised nearly £9,000 for charity.
Outgoing captains Tim Fox and Sue Penhale raised £8,661 for the YMCA hostel in Welwyn Garden City in their year of office, which ended this week.
They have been succeeded by new captains Eric Diment and Sue Hattam, welcomed with a competition to guess the length of their drives.
General manager Tristan Hall said: "Tim Fox and Sue Penhale have had an extremely successful year as captains, raising an excellent sum of money for charity. I’d like to thank them for their efforts and welcome Eric Diment and Sue Hattam to their new posts, and wish them good luck for the year ahead.”
