FIRST Capital Connect's managing director, who has come under fire from service users over recent disruptions, is set to be grilled by the district council.
Neal Lawson has agreed to appear before the public services scrutiny committee on June 30 to update the council on how the company has been addressing the concerns of angry commuters caught up in the wave of delays and cancellations on the Thameslink route.
The rail company's boss has come face-to-face with passengers in St Albans and Harpenden in recent months in response to a barrage of complaints about the Bedford to Brighton service.
Councillor Beric Read, the committee's chairman, said: “I am pleased that Mr Lawson has agreed to come along to the scrutiny committee meeting and respond to feedback from the community.
“Eesidents have concerns about poor performance of the Thameslink service which need to be addressed by First Capital Connect.”
This follows a meeting earlier this year when Larry Heyman, a FCC representative, met with the council to agree an improved compensation package for customers.
