New boss for St Albans law firm

LAW firm Debenhams Ottaway has appointed a new chief executive.

Ian Hopkins has joined the St Peter's Street firm, formed by a merger 18 months ago, from Warners in Kent, where he was managing director.

He said: "I’m delighted to be joining Debenhams Ottaway at this exciting time. The Legal Services Act will shortly bring a number of changes to the supply of legal services in the UK. I look forward to working with everyone at the firm to make sure that Debenhams Ottaway are able to take advantage of the opportunities.”

Partner Louise Attrup said: "Ian’s appointment strengthens our management team. His legal background and extensive management experience will be of considerable benefit to us. He will work with the management team to help ensure our ambitious plans are realised.”
