POTHOLES caused by freezing weather are a problem not just on public roads but also in car parks across St Albans and Harpenden, opposition district councillors are arguing.
Conservative members have lodged a motion for a full council meeting next week, calling on the Lib Dem cabinet to urgently repair damage to the surfaces of car parks it owns .
Tory leader Julian Daley, stung by the Review's stories of potholes on roads maintained by his political allies on the county council, said: "The Lib Dems have made a lot of noise about the impact of winter weather but where they are actually responsible have done nothing about it."

Good to know that they're not all "Tory potholes" though. Somehow there's something a lot nicer about the idea of a "Lib Dem pothole".
Maybe that's because a pothole in a car park is less likely to write off your car, or kill you if you are on your bike, than a pothole on a main road, where speeds are greater.
Perhaps the two of them could now call a truce in this ridiculous finger-pointing, and get on and fix the holes.
