YOUTH councillors in Welwyn Hatfield will be going behind the scenes to get hands on experience during a concert later this month.
The youngsters will be helping to make the Bank Holiday Bash at the Forum a success and they are already helping to design the lighting for the performances.
On the night itself - Monday, April 5 – members of the youth council will come together to shadow the lighting and sound professionals and assist with the artist liaison.
Part of their job will include interviewing the artists before they go on stage.
To encourage others to go along, councillors have been presenting assemblies at their respective schools and they have also used the popular social networking site Facebook to spread the word.
Laura Heasman, one of the youth councillors, said: “We're in the middle of designing the lighting for the night at the moment and it's all going well.
“We can't wait to see how the finished result will look on the night and the fact that we'll be interviewing the artists is really exciting. I'm also looking forward to seeing how the different aspects of the production we're helping with will come together.”
The event will be held on Easter Monday at the Forum in Hatfield.
