MP Anne Main mentions the Review's ROAR campaign in Parliament

THE Review's ROAR campaign was praised by St Albans MP Anne Main in a Parliamentary debate on the state of the district's roads.

As we reported this morning Mrs Main demanded more cash to repair potholes in a Commons debate last night.

She went on to mention the Review's 'Repair Our Awful Roads' campaign launched in 2008 in a bid to pressure Hertfordshire County Council to take action.

Mid-way through her speech Mrs Main said: “Our local paper , the St Albans and Harpenden Review, has been running a campaign called ROAR which stands for 'Repair Our Awful Roads'.”

Since the big freeze earlier this year more potholes have littered the county's roads causing yet more misery for motorists and cyclists.

This is a bit of a joke - if our MP could only bring herself to persuade to her Conservative collegues at County Hall to do their job properly, we would not need the Review campaign , or loads of leaflets showing various Lib Dems staring lovingly down potholes!
