A CHARITY launched in aid of a Park Street couple currently in west Africa supporting disadvantaged children is holding a fundraiser this weekend.
Park Street Baptist Church will host a 24-hour music marathon to raise cash for MECI which was set up to support Gademo and Liz Numadi and their two children who have been in Togo since January.
As well as live music there will be refreshments, car washing, and second hand book and clothes stalls.
Kathryn Weller, secretary and trustee of MECI, said she hopes people will come along and support the good cause.
She said: “The couple's vision is to support the social and development needs of children and to train church leaders in youth work.
“In particular we wish to raise money to provide a bore hole in a small village called Ando Bedo.”
The event is being held at the church in Penn Road, Park Street from 11am on Saturday, March 20, to 11am on Sunday, March 21.
