HMS St Albans will be representing the UK at an international exhibition in Qatar later this month.
The Portsmouth-based warship is currently on a six-month operational tour of the Arabian Gulf where she has been assisting coalition units with maritime security operations.
The defence show starting on March 29, named DIMDEX 2010, is the only one of its kind in the Middle East, and has more than 140 international companies as exhibitors and will have ten visiting warships from six different nations – including HMS St Albans.
Two others representing the UK are Faslane-based minesweepers HMS Pembroke and HMS Grimsby.
Commander Adrian Pierce, Commanding Officer for HMS St Albans, said: “It will be an honour to be in Qatar and taking part in this prestigious event especially with so many representatives from other nations and partners in industry.
“The Royal Navy will have three very capable platforms at this event which demonstrates not only the respect it has for the event but how seriously we take maritime security within the region.”
