St Albans planning committee to discuss fishing lakes plans tonight

PLANS for three new fishing lakes on the edge of St Albans are to be discussed by a planning committee this evening.

An applicant has proposed the lakes along with a 25-space car park and toilet on the site in Hanrox Meadow, Blunts Lane in Potters Crouch.

However St Stephen Parish Council has objected to the plans to development in the Green Belt.

One of the main reasons for opposing the application is due to the effect its construction will have on the surrounding lanes which are used by walkers and horse riders.

The council also states there are already adequate fishing facilities in St Albans and surrounding areas.
