A FLOWER club has been given a boost after receiving £5,000 from the National Lottery.
Flowers For All, based at the British Legion Club, Green Lane, Chislehurst, was awarded a certificate from National Lottery representatives in recognition of the money.
The club, which has 27 members, meets every month and was set up by Christine Bourner, Jean Hull, Nancy McCartney and Sandra Shepherd eight months ago.
They felt there was a need for a flower club in the area and applied to the lottery last October to increase their number of outings to places such as Hampton Court.
The grant will also help pay for demonstrators to visit the club.
Club member Vicky Bonner said: "The money has given the club a big boost as it is quite expensive to fund demonstrators.
"Having a flower club gives people in the community something to look forward to."
