DTH - Had this really been a Railfreight terminal, then you may have a point, however this proposal was a road to road terminal in all but name.

It would have devastated the local environment and caused traffic chaos. The local roads simply aren't large enough to hand the level of traffic it would have generated.

It is indeed the best news this year.

It is inconceivable to me that the plan for the railfrieght terminal did not consider the impact upon road traffic .
Do you really believe that they would build the terminal in an area where their freight could not be transported from the depot .
I think that your viewpoint is purely subjective and incorrect .
Although I make these comments , if there is a better site available then this should be used .
I just wonder if there will be the same local reaction wherever it is built , if this is the case then maybe it should be sited in Park Street as the 'experts' tell us that of all the options open to them Park Sreet is indeed the best choice .
