BNP councillor resigns

A BNP councillor has ended his three-year association with the far right party claiming it is led by a dictator.

Simon Deacon, BNP councillor for Markyate, took the decision to resign saying he could no longer support the party's leader Nick Griffin.

Councillor Deacon, who will now stand on Markyate parish council as an independent, told the Review: "There are a lot of people who are not happy with the way the party is being run by Nick Griffin.

"Anybody that has been outspoken and criticised him have found themselves suspended.

"I feel with the way people are being treated within the party I couldn't support Nick Griffin any longer.

"I couldn't vote for that party at the moment - not the way Nick Griffin is running the BNP.

"If he's going to suspend his own people as soon as they speak badly of him, then how could you trust him as Prime Minister?

"We (BNP) have been labelled in the past as Nazis and facists and I feel at the moment that label is correct.

"I'm not a facist or a Nazi and I don't want to be associated with them.

"I agree with the BNP's policies, it's just the people that are implementing them.

Councillor Deacon is a former member of the National Front, joining it in 1992. He added: "My loyalty is to my country, not a political party - I have always made that perfectly clear.

"When I joined the party the BNP was the only hope left for this country now I feel there's no hope."

So Mr Deacon now realises that the BNP and its leader is corrupt and feels that there is "no hope".

In the spirit of democracy, perhaps Simon will now also offer himself up for re-election.

1. He was a member of the fascist/Nazi party the National Front - holocaust deniers, then

2. after 15 years of being in that fascist/Nazi party he leaves and joins another fascist/Nazi (by his own admission) party, and then

3. after an electoral defeat by them - they now have no councillors in Dagenham/Barking - he has a revelation that he has been associating with fascist/Nazi people.

An independent - don’t make me laugh: by his own record he stands and is condemned.

I was going to state that the article was a consolation to read....until I read Northernsasha's comment! Yikes!

Good riddance to old rubbish.
We don't need trash like that in the party, I know the chairman well and he is a brilliant man and leader leader, who will be remembered as one of Britain's best and possibly last patriots.

Funny how all the numbskulls crawl out of the woodwork every time the BNP make it into the news.

Always makes me laugh especially when you read things like the last moron 'Mike TT' claiming that 'we don't need trash like that'...

I would of thought that's exactly what you need in the BNP, more trash to vote for you..???

Oh well, let them have the democratic say on the matter, it's not like the BNP will actually ever get into power, there simply isn't enough brainless idiots in this country yet.

What is a 'leader leader'?

I know Simon Deacon very well and yes he does regret his past with the NF and left because he wanted to join a right thinking organisation which the BNP was when Simon joined. His feeling is that the BNP has gone the same way as the NF, and yes he is entitled to his opinion to reject it and leave. For those white middle class champagne socialists who operate their own system of apartheid by virtue of their intellect and wealth think again before you condemn anyone linked to the BNP. It is because of your ilk the country has gone down hill. Nobody asked the populace whether they wanted Mass Immigration, the EU in its current format or the abolishing of Capital Punishment. I can't find a law on the statute books that has asked for it, or indeed a referundum or a mandate from the people. Before anyone criticises my nom-de-plume, remember Enoch Powell was an economist first, a libertarian second (voted against Capital Punishment and for legalisation of homosexuality) and a visionary third (on Mass Immigration and Europe). The white liberal elite are to blame for all of Britain's, or more importantly England's ills, as Mass Immigration has not yet been imposed on Scotland and Wales, and we saw what happened in Protestant South Belfast with the Romanian gypsies, who ironically were not housed in the Middle Class areas.

Well said, Enoch. Very impressive.

So now that Simon has "seen the light" and has resigned from the BNP, will he now resign his office and offer the populace in the constituency that elected him on his misplaced BNP ticket, another choice to back him via the Ballot Box?

No, I thought not.

The opening sentence of this story is priceless, and sums up the absurdity of the BNP pretending to be democratic. Far right party run by a dictator? Whatever next?

Just to deal with some facts. Simon was co-opted onto the Council in Markyate whilst in the NF. He then crossed the floor to the BNP without an election. No one complained then. He has now crossed the floor to be an Independent. Therefore, no need again for an election. I think he should be measured for his contribution in the council. To define 'Far Right' you need look no further than at someone like John Redwood or Daniel Hannan from the Conservatives for that mantle, as they are both free market internationalists, with Hannan anti NHS. The BNP have Left Wing economic policies such as renationalising utilities and the railways as well as free market policies for Small Businesses and the Self Employed. On policy, you could call them a hybrid party. If the term 'Far Right' refers to stopping Mass Immigration, then 80% of the population is 'Far Right'. As far as the 'be tough on the BNP stance' is concerned, why not also 'be tough on the causes of the BNP'. There is no need to repeat the tenure of Labour's awful regime for the last 13 years for the increase in popularity for the BNP, but if you look further, it is the veil (or Burka) of silence on vitally critical and important politicial subjects like Mass Immigration and the EU by the three main parties aided and abetted by the media that is perpetuating smouldering resentment. Whilst people en masse will obviously not see the BNP as the way forward at the moment, please don't tell me it is the three main parties, and that they are, wait for it......democratic.

Well there are complaints now! Even if you think it's flawed, at least the 3 main party candidates put themselves up for election. Based on your argument, Simon doesn't even meet their standards - he just relies on the back door.

So in the spirit of fair play, will he now do the decent thing by showing us he is better than them by putting himself up for election this time?

A 'Yes' or 'No' response will be sufficient this time.

I think you will have to speak to Simon himself to account for his actions. There is no doubt he will be subject to the democratic voting process at some point just like John Major and Gordon Brown did after walking into being the Prime Minister. I hope that you study Simon's efforts in the Council and motivate any friends you have in Markyate to vote for him based on his record as a Councillor. My disdain for the three main parties is brought about by changing the UK for the worst and having their hands in the till with the worst excesses of greed through expenses. I can't bring myself to have any respect for them. They simply don't understand the majority of people in the UK, who are not Middle/Upper Class, and that includes Labour.
