CLASSIC cars and motorbikes rolled on to Harpenden Common this afternoon for the annual spectacular which attract thousands of visitors every year.
Crowds of people have flocked to the town to check out the vast array of classic wheels which have parked up.
Geoff Kelly, of the Rotary Club which organises the event, said 1,200 car owners and some 350 motorcycles had registered to show off their valuable pieces of history and it is expected around 10,000 visitors will attend.
However among the 1900 Daimler, which is the oldest exhibit, the Morris Minors and vintage Beetles, sits a modern-day Ferrari and other new cars.
Hugh Wainwright, who has been coming to Classics on the Common for the last ten years, was basking in the sunshine with his family today.
Showing off his white 1968 Austin Mini Cooper S, Mr Wainwright, of Hatfield, said: “I love Classics on the Common, it's just such a lovely event.
“You get lots of other people walking past, people coming home from work and not just people with their cars.
“There's always so much of a variety of cars it's brilliant.”
Although the event is free to attend the Rotary Club collect donations which, this year, will be shared out between Herts Air Ambulance, Herts Actions on Disability and the Rotary sponsored Shelter Box.
Other cars on display for visitors to glance included an E-Type Jaguar, 1986 Marlin Roadster, Chevrolet Fleetline, TVR Tuscan and a 1952 Jowlett Jupiter – just to name a few.
Bob Bailey of Harpenden, along with his three children and wife, came to the Common with their 1967 Ford Mustang.
Inspired to buy the car after watching the film Bullet, Mr Bailey – who bought it 26 years ago – even used it as his wedding car when he tied the knot.
He said: “My interest in classic cars is probably the main thing that brings me here every year.
“The best thing about it is the different variety of cars there isn't just one type like you would get at other places.”
