Musician cleared of sexual assault on young girl

A MUSICIAN known for working alongside “major stars” has been found not guilty by a jury of sexually assaulting a young girl a decade ago.

Peter John Green toured all over Europe and had a top ten hit with his band The Maniax in the 60s, before moving to Wheat Close, Sandridge, in 1986.

The 64-year-old, who has always pleaded his innocence, was cleared of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl in 2000 following a trial at St Albans Crown Court today.

A jury of seven women and five men took less than an hour to reach a not guilty verdict this morning.
