NEW parking bays installed in a Welwyn Garden City street early last month have already reduced congestion, according to the borough council.
At a cost of £27,000, 12 new bays were installed by the borough council on a piece of grass adjoining Little Dell, a very congested street.
Councillor Alan Franey said: “I’m very pleased that the borough and county councils have been able to work so well together on this project. Residents of Little Dell have already seen a big difference."
County councillor Stuart Pile, cabinet member for roads, added: “By pooling our resources, we’ve been able to make significant improvements to the parking provision in this area. Through the Welwyn Hatfield Highways Joint Member Panel, we’ll continue to work with the borough council to identify projects that help to enhance the roads and pavements in Welwyn Hatfield.”
