ACTORS and actresses from Peter Pan, this year's Alban Arena pantomime, met their co-star, Archie the Oxfam goat, yesterday.
Archie, who will be on stage on December 15 for the afternoon performance, joined the cast, including Larry Lamb of EastEnders and Katy Ashworth of CBeebies, to unveil the charity's new range of "unwrapped gifts".
The gifts, which can be sent on a donor's behalf to desperately poor people in the Third World, include a goat for £25, or play and educational children's packages from £7.
Vince Malone, manager of the Oxfam shop in Chequer Street, said: “Pantomimes are part of the classic Christmas experience so we’re delighted that the stars of Peter Pan are helping launch the new range of Oxfam Unwrapped gifts in St Albans.
“There’s always a huge amount of interest in our slightly more unusual gifts and they are perfect if you’re struggling to find something for that friend who has everything already.
"What’s more, both giver and receiver can be happy in the knowledge that the gift has made a real difference to someone who needs it.”
