AS revealed last week our Retailer of the Year competition is back.

Now in its fourth year, the event has become a must for every retailer in St Albans City centre.

St Albans market trader Sycamore Wholefood was crowned Retailer of the Year 2010 at our glittering gala awards evening at the Alban Arena last June.

The competition is a joint initiative between the Review, St Albans District Council, St Albans Civic Society and St Albans District Chamber of Commerce.

And if you missed out on last year’s excitement, here is your chance to put that right - you can now nominate your favourite St Albans retailer.

Short-listed traders will be invited to this year’s awards evening, which will also be held at the Alban Arena, on June 20.

Maybe you think last year’s winners deserve to be crowned again or do you think there is another retailer that deserves to be recognised?

Whoever they are and whatever the reason, make sure they are included in our competition.

The six categories are: Specialist shops Food and drink Markets trader Restaurants and cafés Hair and beauty Fashion and accessories All nominations should be received by midnight on May 13th. After this date our team of mystery shoppers will hit the streets putting each and every retailer to the test. All nominated retailers will also be sent a window poster so they can blow their own trumpets.

Our committee – which consists of former Labour leader Roma Mills; Liberal Democrat Melvyn Teare; former Tory cllr Salih Gaygusuz; Chamber member Sandra Oldfield; civic society member Eric Roberts; council officers Maria Cutler and Charles Baker and Review editor Martin Buhagiar – will then choose a category winner and an overall winner.

To nominate a retailer simply fill in the form on this page and send it to the specified address. You can also text the name of the trader you want to nominate by texting the word ‘retailer’ followed by the name and address of the business to 80360. Texts cost 50p.
