Police arrested four men in connection with Batchwood Golf and Tennis Centre arson

FOUR men have been arrested in connection with an arson attack which almost entirely destroyed Batchwood Golf and Tennis Centre yesterday.

Officers yesterday arrested two 17-year-olds, a 19-year-old and a 23-year-old, all from St Albans.

Police have confirmed they are treating the fire as arson.

Firefighters were called to the Batchwood Drive centre just after 2.35am after the tennis and bowls club went up in flames.

The gym was saved from fire - however charred shells of the other buildings remain on the site.
