A BUSINESSMAN who has restored a disused Hertfordshire cinema into operation will be talking tonight about how he wants to do the same in St Albans.
James Hannaway of The Rex in Berkhamsted, whose ambition is to bring the London Road Odeon back to life after more than ten years, will be the St Albans Civic Society's guest speaker at 8pm at the Cross Street Centre, Dagnall Street Baptist Church.
Society chairman Eric Roberts said: "His talk will recount the tale of the restoration of this art deco cinema, now hugely popular and described as possibly one of the most beautiful in the country. It will no doubt ring bells for those who mourn the loss of our Odeon and would love to see it back in use.
