A fashion boutique in St Albans has been nominated for a prestigious award for the third time.

The Dressing Room in St Albans High Street has been nominated for its third Drapers Fashion Award, a national scheme which recognises the top businesses in industry.

The store was crowned Best New Business in 2006 and took away the Womanswear Retailer of the Year award in 2009, the same award it is up for this year.

Deryane Tadd, shop owner, said: “It is fantastic and a real recognition of all the hard work, passion and determination that we put in.

“We are dedicated to being the best independent retailer that we can be."

The contemporary fashion boutique is one of five stores across the country that have been nominated for the prize, and the winner will be announced at an awards night at Grosvenor House in London on November 16.

Ms Tadd, who opened the shop more than six years ago, added: “It is really good to be up there and sitting among the top five women’s retailers in the country regardless of whether we win.

“The awards celebrate independent businesses alongside national businesses which I think is really good.”

The store believes it is its attention to detail and the high quality of service it offers that sets it apart from other fashion retailers.

All 11 members of staff at The Dressing Room are fully trained as stylists to ensure they can offer the best advice to their clients.

Ms Tadd said: “Everything that we do we do with our customers in mind.

“It is the passion that we have for what we do.”
