THE Bishop of St Albans has added his name to an appeal to the United Nations and other world bodies to protect 3,400 Iranian dissidents in Iraq.
Bishop Alan Smith, from St Albans Abbey, has joined two archbishops and 15 other bishops in appealing for the protection of dissidents in Camp Ashraf.
The church leaders are calling on the Iraqi government and UN member states to guarantee a safe and secure relocation of 3,300 unarmed refugees in the camp.
