A FATHER from Harpenden will be dedicating a song to his son, who suddenly died in 2007, on a special anniversary airing of Desert Island Discs.
Keith Davies will take to the airwaves tomorrow to contribute to BBC's Your Desert Island Discs' show, to mark the celebration.
Keith's son Graham was 16-years-old when he suffered from a cardiac arrhythmia - an abnomal heartbeat which can cause an arrest. Graham collapsed and died while he was out jogging with a friend.
Keith hopes to raise awareness of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) through his involvement in the programme.
In memory of Graham, Keith's chosen track is Miserere by the Cat Empire, and he will be one of a number of specially selected 'non celebrity DJs' on the anniversary edition.
Keith said: "Graham loved music and he was even in a band called Jet City Zen. This was one of the songs on my son's iPod that I had bought him for his 16th birthday present just four weeks before he died. I played this song after he died again and again to feel close to him."
He added: "It will be nice to know that I'm doing something to raise awareness of CRY, which raises money for screening."
