A judge from a popular television talent show has visited a school in Harpenden to try to get more boys involved in dance.
Pupils at Crabtree Infant School in Crabtree Lane had the chance to learn some new moves from Got to Dance’s Adam Garcia yesterday morning.
Sally Pattrick, headteacher at the school, said: “It was good to have a positive male role model.
“We are trying to give children the message that just because you’re a boy or a girl doesn’t mean you can’t try everything available to you - we're trying to move away from stereotypes.
“No one could resist trying - everyone stood up and had a go.”
The Australian dancer showed the children a tap dancing routine and members of the school’s dance club performed a piece for him to show off their moves.
Mrs Pattrick hopes that yesterday’s visit will get children across the school dancing.
She said: “It is a good way to keep fit and stay healthy.
“The children absolutely loved it.”
