Students, parents and residents will have the chance to give their opinions on whether a school in St Albans should become an academy at a community consultation.
Beaumont School in Oakwood Drive is currently in talks with Hertfordshire County Council and the Department for Education about converting to academy status.
Becoming an academy would mean the school would be funded and maintained by the Department of Education.
Those who will be affected by the possible change will be able to share their opinions at the consultation at 7pm on Wednesday, February 22.
For more information contact Ann Darnell, the community liaison coordinator, on 01277 854726

He has since obtained a Degree in film at Wolverhampton University the foundation for this achievement was laid at Beaumont.
From what I saw of the school as a parent, the education there as a comprehensive school was a vast improvement over the schooling I endured in a Secondary Modern School in the 1950-60’s, that I attended as I failed the 11 Plus.
Now this Government approach is set to derail all the advances in education delivery, with the privatisation of state education by forcing Primary and Comprehensive schools into becoming Academies. Coupled with the attempt to re-impose selective education with the 11 Plus system and more Grammar schools.
