Residents could be able to get help with their finances from the St Albans Credit Union at the new advice and information centre.
The centre, which officially opened last week, sees different services in the city, including the council, citizens advice bureau and Oaklands college, working together under one roof.
St Albans District Credit Union could be the newest service to move into the centre.
Arthur Chapman, from the union, said: “This is an excellent opportunity to reach even more people in the District and to help them manage their finances during these challenging times.
“The credit union is for the whole community and not just the financially disadvantaged, however, by providing competitive rates of interests on loans we can help those who have no alternative but to borrow from money lenders at high interest rates.”
