Verulam School in St Albans has won tickets for the Commonwealth Day Observance in Westminster Abbey which will be attended by The Queen.
Commonwealth Day, held on March 12 this year, is an annual celebration of the Commonwealth and includes a multi-faith service at Westminster Abbey.
2012 will be a special year for the Observance as it will kick off the Commonwealth's celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee – marking both 60 years as the UK Monarch and 60 years as Head of the Commonwealth.
To win tickets to the Observance the school entered a Jubilee Time Capsule competition. Hundreds of schools took part and pupils had to pick a day in the last 60 years and say why it was important.
