A man has been taken to hospital following a fire at a family restaurant in St Albans.
Firefighters were called to The Ancient Briton, a Harvester restaurant in Harpenden Road, just before 11am yesterday morning after a grill caught fire.
A member of staff, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to Watford General Hospital after burning his hand.
The restaurant was closed yesterday and will remain shut today whilst a new grill is installed.
A spokesman from restaurant said: "Our staff followed the usual health and safety procedures until the fire brigade attended to take control of the situation. Thankfully no one was seriously injured.
"We are likely to be open and trading from Tuesday and apologise to customers for the inconvenience this closure may cause to them."
