The colleagues and patients of a doctor from St Albans who passed away after a long illness have paid tributes to her.
Dr Isabelle Favot-Mayaud, a French-born GP who worked at Midway Surgery in Watford Road, passed away aged 51.
The mother-of-three had worked in Tanzania and Dominica since qualifying as a general practitioner in France in 1987.
Staff at the surgery decided to put together a memorial book to give patients the chance to write tributes to Dr Favot-Mayaud.
Dr James Ferguson, who worked with her at the surgery, said: "She was an extremely capable doctor and a very kind person.
"She was very good to work with and she was helpful to patients and staff.
"She was a very cheerful and smiley person who was good fun to have around - she was a very positive character."
Dr Ferguson said the intention of the memorial book was also to help her husband understand the support she had offered to patients.
He said: "We know that many Midway patients who have consulted with her will want to join us in extending our condolences to them at this difficult time."
Dr Favot-Mayaud died on December 31.
